 The Reflections Creative Writers' Workshops are a popular and an important component in your writing journey. The workshops challenge you to explore your craft and help you develop solid writing skills in a supportive atmosphere. You learn the fundamentals of writing, structure, dialogue and flow. You will receive writing exercises and assignments that challenge your imagination. The workshops provide personal attention in small, intimate settings, usually held in schools and faith based organizations, which creates an atmosphere of camaraderie and develops a community of peers. The workshops are also designed to help you expand your stories for publication.
CREATIVE WRITERS WORKSHOPS
In this workshop you will learn how to take your life experiences and turn them into publishable life stories. You will learn how to identify and write your true feelings with you as the main character. This workshop will take you into self-discovery. You will learn how to write, edit, and polish your story. You will receive specific writing exercises that teach you basic writing skills. You will write your author's bio and prepare your story to be published for a class book. This workshop is made for the beginner who wants to write, needs guidance and can benefit from the support of the group.
FIRST STEPS: THE BASIC ELEMENTS WORKSHOP
For the new writer, or anyone who needs a refresher in the basics, these workshops provide a solid foundation in the fundamentals of grammar, punctuation, composition and descriptive writing. Material is presented in a straightforward, practical manner using several examples and opportunities for self-evaluation. In addition to exercises, students also receive specific writing assignments for the instructor's evaluation and participation in group feedback and discussion sessions.
In the Writers Workshop you will:

As a workshop participant, Reflections Publishing will take your stories, edit them and publish them in a class book. Workshop participants will name the book and design the cover. We will arrange a book signing at your organization so you can purchase copies to sell to your friends and family. The class book is an excellent opportunity to create a byline for you as an author, which will help with your marketing strategies. The class book will also make a lasting memento that you can pass on to family and friends.
